The Gray Area is not an emergency service. Although we will always try to assist you in whatever way we can, if you are in need of urgent crises support, there are a number of services that are set up specifically to support people in times such as these. A few of these services are listed below for your reference.

    Lifeline is a national charity providing individuals experiencing a personal crisis with access to online, phone and face-to-face crisis support and suicide prevention services. They are available 24 hours 7 days a week and have free interpreters / translators and hearing / speech relay processes available. For more information, click on the link below.

    The Suicide Call Back Service is a national 24 hours a day, 7 days a week telehealth provider that offers free professional phone and online counselling for people living in Australia.

    This service is manned by psychologists, social workers and professional counsellors who are trained to offer support to individuals who are feeling suicidal, family members of suicidal individuals, or people who have lost someone to suicide.

    The Mental Health Line is a free, government funded 24-hour telephone service operating seven days a week across NSW. The Mental Health line is staffed by mental health professionals who can assist in providing you with support, and will also assess the degree of urgency and connect you with any acute support services that are appropriate.

    Kids Helpline is a nationwide, free, private and confidential 24 hours 7 days a week phone and online counselling service for young people aged 5 to 25. Kidsline is staffed by fully trained professionals who are experienced in dealing with a wide range of issues; from everyday topics such as family, friends and school to more serious issues of child abuse, bullying, mental health issues, drug and alcohol use, homelessness and suicide.
